“Thank you all for the great conference organised and the great time we had last week in Selangor. Like Maria, said in a previous email, we all share the positive feedback regarding the success of this year’s conference. It was a challenge that has exceeded all expectations. Selangor Smart City & Future Commerce Convention 2017 has showcased how the State of Selangor is becoming a dynamic, vibrant and caring Smart State. Both the conference and the exhibition have located Smart Selangor among the best Smart City initiatives in the world. Being familiar with many other Smart City strategies and grounded in our experience in Barcelona we are very honoured to have contributed to the success of this event, and to have joined forces with a great team of speakers, cities and companies to make this a successful international Smart City event.”

“I enjoyed the e-commerce talks because it was interesting to get an idea of how things are from an inside man for those huge e-businesses like 11street. The international speakers were also nice because it was a great way to open up one’s mind to new ideas without needing to go overseas and meet these people. I can’t wait to see if next year will be a bigger event.”

“Above all, the convention was an excellent program. I thoroughly enjoyed the Green City Forum, as well as the various sessions on Smart Cities and Future Commerce. Keep up the good work, and I am looking forward to next year!”

“The Green City Forum of the Selangor Smart City Convention was an unique event of key stakeholders such as national and local government authorities, scientific and research institutions, private and business sector, NGOs, international organizations and individual experts to discuss various strategies, policy options and practical measures in moving towards a zero waste and resource efficient society. The event was quite relevant in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the underlined SDGs, in particular SDG 11 – making cities and human settlements safe, resilient, inclusive and sustainable. Given the fact that more than 70% of the world population will be living in cities and urban areas by 2050, the sustainability will very much depend on how the cities will consume the resources, generate and manage the wastes, among others. In that regard, the Selangor Smart City Convention was very timely in influencing the city authorities, the scientific community and the private sector to forge triangular cooperation in achieving circular economic development. Once again thank you very much for inviting me as a resource person to deliver the keynote presentation.”
